Exterior of Elms Hall building

Elms Hall, formerly known as the Classroom Building, is undergoing a full-scale renovation. Built in 1972, it has retained most of its original systems and space configuration until now.

The two-phase renovation project, which is anticipated to conclude in summer 2027, will provide updated classrooms, academic department spaces, and study and lounge spaces. In addition, it will add an identifiable south entrance to the building connected to the main north entrance, increase natural light, improve wayfinding, and replace building systems and finishes. The building is also being clad in a distinctive terra cotta façade.

The project is supported by the State University Construction Fund.
