The Buffalo State Foundation has embarked on a new chapter of collaboration with other campus events to generate critical funds for student scholarships and financial aid, as well as enhance the Buffalo State experience.

The Foundation’s first collaborative effort was its 28th Annual Buffalo State Foundation Golf Tournament, which, in 2025, was held in partnership with Buffalo State Athletics’ 42nd Annual Bengal Club Golf Classic.

While Athletics continued to champion support for its programs, the addition of the Foundation’s tournament brought a broader focus to the event, allowing attendees to learn more about Buffalo State’s investments in student success.

One innovative way in which golfers gave back was through the “Golf for GRIT Birdie,” which allowed participants to make gifts to the GRIT Scholarship in exchange for an automatic birdie on a hole of their choosing. The GRIT scholarship provides merit-based aid and faculty mentorship to students nominated by professors and campus advocates.

In addition to fundraising, the tournament provided opportunities for connection. The “Bengal Meet & Putt” experience invited golfers to engage with a wide range of Buffalo State faculty and staff members.

Be sure to mark your calendar for this year’s event—the Buffalo State Bengal Club & Buffalo State Foundation Golf Classic on Monday, August 3, 2026, at the Pendleton Creek Golf Club, 4385 Tonawanda Creek Road, North Tonawanda, NY 14120.
